Editorial standards
How we research, review, and disclose.
Every page across our 54-site network falls into one of two categories. We disclose which one a page belongs to and apply different standards to each.
The two-product distinction
Hotel directory listings
Listings on our directory pages are paid placements. Hotels apply for inclusion and pay a tier-based listing fee. We verify that the property exists, has the credentials it claims, and meets minimum quality criteria before accepting payment.
Listings are clearly identified as such. Booking links carry the
rel="sponsored" attribute. Premium tier placements
are marked with a "Featured" badge.
Editorial blog content
Blog posts are independent editorial content. Properties cannot pay to appear in or influence the ranking order within editorial articles. Hotel mentions in editorial context are based on the criteria stated in each article.
Every blog post carries an Editorial Director attribution and is reviewed against our editorial standards before publication.
Sources we cite and verify against
For factual claims about properties, locations, and attractions, our editorial team draws from:
- Property-supplied data. Hotels in our directory provide and sign off on amenity, room count, address, and contact data. We re-verify this annually.
- Wikidata. The structured-data backbone we use for landmark, attraction, and entity coverage. Every entity referenced in editorial content has a verifiable Wikidata QID.
- Wikipedia. Source for descriptive context on landmarks, neighbourhoods, and historical background.
- Official tourism authorities. National and city tourism boards for event calendars, opening hours, and seasonal information.
- Venue-published information. Museums, restaurants, transit operators, and other venues are cited via their own primary sources.
Editorial review process
Each article in our editorial blog passes through a multi-step review: research and drafting against the source list above, fact-coverage check (every factual claim must trace to a sourced data point), uniqueness check across the network, and final review by the Editorial Director.
Corrections and updates
Articles are revisited periodically and updated when underlying facts change (opening hours, prices, seasonal events). Each article displays its publication date and last update date.
Spot a factual error? Email press@hotelsin.group with the page URL and the specific claim to correct.
Disclosure policy
Every page on every site in our network discloses whether its content is paid
(directory listing) or editorial (blog). Paid links carry
rel="sponsored". Affiliate booking links carry the same.
Editorial content does not contain paid mentions of specific properties.
Our editorial coverage is independent of our directory revenue. A hotel that advertises with us receives the same editorial treatment in our blog as one that does not — which is to say, both are evaluated on the criteria stated in each article, not on commercial relationship.
